Introductory Electrical Theory focusing on Ohm’s Law, the power equation, simple electrostatic models, and culminating
with circuit analysis and troubleshooting methods. Introduces series and parallel circuits.
Required Text: UGLY’s Electrical Reference, any edition.
Provides 8 hours Basic Classroom Education for Trainees or 8 hours Industry Related for journey level certificates.
The Washington State course number is WA2019-226. Make sure you have not taken this course number before. You can look it up on the LNI website contractor verify tool, under your name. https://secure.lni.wa.gov/verify
Students will review the material with the instructor using Zoom for distance learning.
You must sign up and pay online using the email where you wish the Zoom invite to be sent (or send an email to onlineclasses@ceuwashington.com if you wish an invite to be sent to a separate address).
Students must:
Be available for eight hours in front of a working computer or phone.
Have drivers license or state photo identification for verification at the time of class.
Have installed the Zoom virtual meeting application. https://zoom.us/support/download
Have access to email.
Have video and audio throughout the instructional period, both from and to the instructor. A laptop or desktop computer with screen and camera is best (cell phones will work, but not as well).
Have copies of any required books.
Have a prepared lunch and beverages.
Have paper and writing utensil.
Be able to take quizzes.
Be aware if a student disconnects from the zoom meeting for any reason, they will not get credit for the class. There will be no refunds.
